Note before filming

As the month of filming and editing, to cut it short, actually making the video has approached. I am walking into this well organised and motivated to go through with it and produce something I am well satisfied with. The idea of the music video is personal to me as I have seen many family members and friends go through the same thing and I wanted to highlight it, this particular idea is not only reflecting a relationship between two significant others but can represent many different type of relationships like that between a child and parent or two friends. The idea represents saying goodbye to a toxic relationship, the idea first started with a loop of them going back but as I developed it, I came to realize that my work should reflect what I want people to do, and that is to walk out of a relationship that can harm oneself not just mentally but physically as well. Therefore once I am done, I will be writing a note on mental health and why one should value themselves

Target Audience

To define 'Target Audience'; it is the group of people I intend to affect with my product which in this case is Music Promotion Pack( which includes a music video, a website and a digipack). Today I will talk about the target audience I intend to effect in terms of demographic/ geographic/ psychographic Starting with Geographic: Firstly the intention is that the product reaches international scale, more towards western rather than eastern. This is due to the culture that has been presented in this video, in relation to pre martial relations and living together shown by sitting on the same bed. Secondly, by clothing which is the conventional western attire and also the language of this song is English. So places like America, Australia, UK, European etc. will be more interested in this song.  Demographic includes: age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, income etc. The music video, website and Digi pack will be more appealing to the youth, in their 20's and earl

Meaning of the song

While researching about the song ' easier'; I came across a beautiful interpretation of the lyrics and how the music and beats compliment the haunting lyrics. Although this is about the song easier released by Mansionair in 2016. Which they later re released with SHAED.  https://atwoodmagazine.com/easier-mansionair/ The singers of this song are  Jack Froggatt and Chelsea Lee

Planning- Lighting

Gloomy is how I will describe the overall setting to be. The lighting is a major part of the whole music video, the song itself is very intense. The first scene in the bed room has to have more of a darker vibe, to go accordingly to the lyrics Face up, untouched, gazing at the ceiling Game's up, never bring you down                                     Face up, our love's, craving for some feeling Game's up, we're nowhere to be found I'm stuck, I'm stuck, I'm stuck here in my skin I'm stuck, I'm stuck, I'm stuck with you Tell me it gets easier, tell me it gets easier Tell me it gets easier, that I'll figure it out Tell me it gets easier, tell me it gets easier Oh, tell me it gets easier, that I'll figure it out                         DANCE The lyrics above are from the part that is indoors which will be dark. Which is according to the lyrics- cry for help, cry to make it easier.  Face up, untouched, craving for some healing Take

Planning - Dance ( Inspiration)

The dance steps in the music video were of great significance to me, not only did it make the music video more artistic but each step  meant something.  The first move is both the arms raising ( one arm followed by the other), for me the raising of the arms is a move of vulnerability, a cry for help from God. The second move is the arms coming down to embrace one self to show that it will be okay. The head going in a circular movement shows insanity.  I believe each viewer will have their own interpretation of every move. Dance is an art to me and art has no set meaning or boundaries. After showing these moves to my friends and fellow school mates who had not heard the story or my interpretation of the moves, i heard different responses such as; raising hands mean gathering strength; the head movement  symbolizes tiredness; the embrace is a literal embrace to show the person taking cover or making an armor. After evaluating all the responses I came to the conclusion that the moves di

Planning- Structure

Listening to the song for at least  15 times, I have a basic idea of how I want each angle to be. Since the music video is a more emotional and heartbreaking story I want the angles to compliment the storyline. After practicing shots on different people, even my cat, I am deciding to go with extreme close ups or close ups to make it more intimate and show more emotions, and i also decided that whilst singing characters need to look into the camera, to show how they're pleading for help.  I also decided that I wouldn't do long takes, rather shorter clips. Furthermore, i wanted to incorporate jump cuts, so different angles of both the characters can be shown. For the establishing shot I am debating between a crane shot moving upward or barn door effect on a still shot. I am also considering Juxtaposition/ Parallel editing for the dance sequence but I also feel like the dances should be shown separately as each move gives a message. I want to use sunlight as a main source of light
